Wastewater planning involves the analysis of options, the selection of a particular alternative, and the conceptual approval for wastewater disposal for a particular development or property. Wastewater planning is an often somewhat overlooked but critical step in the development process. Prudent wastewater planning in the initial stages of the development process can save clients enormous amounts of time and aggravation later in the process.
Wastewater design involves the development of detailed plans and specifications for a selected wastewater disposal alternative. This could involve consulting and design services for individual on-lot or community systems, drip irrigation systems, or pump stations and gravity sewer systems. Proper design of wastewater facilities is a critical step for any development and is often required before any building permits or approvals can be obtained.
